THE COUNTRY CLUB OF ST. ALBANS

The Country Club of St. Albans is one of most prestigious golf clubs in the St. Louis region, located on the outskirts of the metropolitan area, in the most beautiful surrounding by nearing hills and forests. The club competes for membership with several other prestigious country clubs and has put together a campaign that would help them raise the level of membership. Since the membership is by invitation only, the campaign would target the existing members as well as the potential members.

The club approached us to help them produce a video that would show the club in its best light, showcasing the greens, the clubhouse, its members and the overall high quality atmosphere. In the video, the president would personally address the audience, thanking them for the patronage and inviting them to join the family. The video would have to be completed in time before the new season.

The scenery in St. Albans is breathtaking. Unfortunately, in the midst of winter, it is hard to find golfers on the course to photograph, and the lush garden of eden looks a bit frozen. The only way to complete this video is to utilize footage of the previously produced video featuring the St. Albans Community. Because the video had to target the members and the prospects, two versions of the Classic Rewards program would need to be created. The first step was to ensure availability of the footage required for the production. Next, was familiarizing ourselves with the contents and trying to find shots that would match the script. With a few tweaks in the text, we were able to find coverage for the script. With some imagination, styling, color correction and graphics, we were able to achieve a look that successfully portrayed the club as if the footage had been shot just for that purpose.

RESULTS

For a video that was conceived and completed while snow was still on the ground, and while relying on footage we weren't sure we had, and composing it with the script based on assumptions, this video would have won an award had we put it in a contest. However, it did win us may thanks and appreciations from the club whom we saved thousands of dollars in production expenses and wasted time in waiting for the Spring.

MORAL

Someone once said: "fortune favors a prepared mind". We are always prepared because we seem to be able to be fortunate every time.
